Project Description: Installation of a single 914 mm diameter steel pipe pile in the median of Highway 1. Following the installation, high strain dynamic testing was conducted at set intervals beyond the final drive date.

Services Provided: Instratus provided vibration monitoring for the project. Three triaxial geo-phone vibration monitors were utilized to monitor vibrations on the existing Livingstone Road Underpass and two adjacent FortisBC gas transmission mains.

High strain dynamic testing involved the use of a large weight (16,000 lb) drop hammer. Instratus configured the vibration monitors to send SMS notifications to the crane operator and project manager if vibration thresholds were exceeded, allowing the project to proceed without worry of vibration induced damage.
