Project Description: The twinning of the Douglas Road water main included a number of sections. The Still Creek Section involves a tunneled path that runs under Still Creek, Highway 1, CN Rail lines, and the Douglas Road Overpass. Three shafts were constructed below grade to launch and receive the tunnel boring equipment.

Services Provided: Instratus is providing an instrumentation and monitoring plan, pre- and post-construction condition assessments of the neighbouring properties, sensitive features, and buildings, and three vibration monitors that are deployed near the shafts and along the tunnel path. Data from the vibration monitors is transmitted to and presented on Instratus’ web portal. Daily reports summarizing results of monitoring are submitted to Ward & Burke, Metro Vancouver and their engineering representatives.
